As new technologies make it easier to make and communicate
creative work, activists and artists are experimenting in exciting
ways. Interactivity, showcasing of new voices, and collaboratively-made
public affairs and news are some of the approaches showcased on

Generation
M: Media in the Lives of 8-18 year-olds
New from the Kaiser Family Foundation, this study examined media
use among youth finding them spending an increasing amount of time
using "new media" such as computers, Internet and video
games, and increasing their media consumption by using more than
one medium.

Developed by The Center for Reprodcutive Law and Policy, this handbook
aggregates infromation on creating socially motivated work. The

Beyond The Box
The Center for Social Media scanned the internet to look at some
of the media strategies being used during the war in Iraq. The war
spurred many types of communication; they are categorized and links
to examples are provided.

Media That Matters Film Festival
The Festival brings high-impact shorts and Take Action tools to
audiences around the country all year long. The jury-selected film
and video shorts, digital stories and new media stream online, are
broadcast, tour the country through community screenings, and also
distributed as a jam-packed DVD.
