UnseenWashington
Exhibition hosted during the 2003
Human Rights Film Series
Unseenwashigton is a program of first
person photographs and stories by SEIU Local 82 building service
workers in Washington, DC. During a ten week workshop, these seven
Latino janitors worked with a professional photographer and learned
to use their camera to tell their stories. Unseenwashington
is part of the Unseenamerica project (view
the online exhibit), a nationwide effort to give camera and
classes to a variety of workers including homecare attendants, migrant
workers, nannies, steelworkers, dorrmen, janitors, garment workers,
and many more.
Unseenwashington is a joint effort
of Thhe Service Employees International Union Local 82, the Bread
and Roses Cultural Project, and the SEIU
Greenhouse Cultural Program.
