Check out the Center’s Fair Use Toolkit DVD

The Fair Use Toolkit is now available on DVD and online. The Toolkit contains the new Center film, Fair Use and Free Speech, a 7-minute explanation of the Documentary Filmmakers’ Statement of Best Practices in Fair Use, how it was created and how it can be used. It also contains a revised version of an earlier short film, Stories Untold, some examples of successful fair use, and the Statement. Filmmakers, film teachers and students, and law professors and students are all target audiences.

The Statement, written by veteran filmmakers, helps other filmmakers understand some instances where using copyrighted material without clearance is considered fair use.

The Center is launching the DVD at the University Film and Video Association’s annual conference in Los Angeles, CA, August 1-4. You can access all the materials online at our Fair Use page or write us at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) for your own DVD.
