Location: Silverdocs takes place in and around downtown Silver Spring, Maryland – just minutes from downtown Washington, DC - at the AFI Silver Theatre, the flagship theatre of the AFI, one of the premier film exhibition spaces in the country, and the top art house cinema in the region.

Look for Center staff throughout the festival at screenings and the conference. One of this year's Silver Spectrum featured films is To Be Heard, co-directed by Roland Legiardi-Laura who was a big hit at Media That Matters in February. Join Roland and others from the To Be Heard team for screenings on Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25.

Join us for a screening of Tom Shadyac's film "I AM" followed by Q&A with the filmmaker. 

Tom Shadyac’s writing/directing career was launched in 1994 with the Jim Carrey smash hit Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. In the years that followed, Shadyac would establish himself as one of the most prolific comedy directors in Hollywood while working with some of the biggest names in the business.
