THE WAITING ROOM screening with Director Pete Nicks
Visiting Filmmaker Series
Date: Thursday, April 11, 2013 - 5:30pm - 8:00pm
Location: Wechsler Theater, MGC 315 American University, 4400 Mass Ave NW, Washington, D.C. 20016
The empowering effects of storytelling and the megaphone of media come together in a transmedia project that is reshaping how we talk about healthcare in the United States. What are you waiting for? is the question that filmmaker Pete Nicks asks patients and families in the hospital waiting room. Their answers to this simple question are now an award winning film, starting discussions in the halls of Congress, theaters across the county, and within families who are far too familiar with the agony of the waiting room.
Acclaimed director, Pete Nicks, will host a Q & A session after showing this award-winning film to the Washington D.C. community. This event is part of the Visting Filmmakers Series; a series which brings cutting-edge social documentaries and opportunties to hear from the filmmakers to the D.C. public.
This event will take place on April 11, 2013 from 5:30-8:00PM.
It is free and open to the public.
American University is committed to providing accessible programs and services.
