Katie Donnelly is a Research Fellow at the Center for Social Media, where she researches and blogs about the future of public media. Katie comes to the Center from the Media Education Lab at Temple University in Philadelphia, where she was a Research Associate from 2007 until 2009. While at the Media Education Lab, Katie worked with the Center for Social Media and American University’s Washington College of Law on the development of the Code of Best Practices in Fair Use for Media Literacy Education. Katie is particularly interested in youth media and has published several articles in related publications, including Youth Media Reporter and Studies In Media & Information Literacy Education (SIMILE). When she’s not researching media, Katie enjoys film festivals, environmental activism and blogging about food.

Katie received her MA in Broadcasting, Telecommunications and Mass Media from Temple University in 2008. She earned a BA in Women’s Studies with a concentration in philosophy from the State University of New York at Purchase in 2003.
