Staff Bios Claire Darby

Claire Darby is an MFA candidate in film and media arts at American University and a graduate fellow at AU’s Center for Social Media. She is also an independent filmmaker. After graduating with a BA from Boston College, Claire spent 5 years working as a social justice organizer on issues like immigration, poverty, and workers’ rights. Claire has a strong interest in the power of film to promote understanding, build connections and effect social change, and she is excited to use documentary filmmaking to bring to light the issues she cares about.
